EASTER COOKIE TIME!

Well, it's time.  I've baked two batches of the World's Best Sugar Cookie dough - rolled and cut them into Easter and Springtime shapes.

I've made a double batch of Royal Icing and colored 5 portions and left one white.  I'm ready to decorate.  Well, almost...I need to load the squeeze bottles.  I put each color of icing in a disposable piping bag to allow me to load the bottles more easily.

OK - done - ready to roll.

I've set up my work station with sprinkles and sugars galore.   I've go my mp3 player on shuffle.  The teen is occupied in his room.  Let's decorate!

Fast forward 9 hours....
I must say, as I have said before...I do not know how professionals have the stamina to do this day in and day out.  I'm pooped.  It's been a long day and I still have cookies to decorate.  My icing is separating though, so it's time to call it a day.  I'll probably take a break tomorrow and finish day after tomorrow.  It's a lot of work making the different colors of icing!

So here are pictures of the progress...I'll do another post when I'm all the way finished!

So, that's it for today - please stop in day-after-tomorrow and I hope to have the final photos of the completed Easter Cookie project.

Bon Appetit, Y'all!!!

  10. I've GOT to try these for our first grandbaby's very first Easter. How can I copy the recipe without writing it out...I have severe chronic pain and am on permanent disability so I cannot hand write it out...but if I try to copy and paste it...it won't allow me to see the text except two or three words to a line which takes almost 50 pages to print out...HELP!!!

    1. I'm glad you like these...hopefully I can help with the printing. If there is a way for a print recipe in blogger, I haven't found it. However, for my Mom, I was able to copy and paste the recipe into a Word document and print from there. Hope this helps you out! I will say, if you don't have hand strength and stamina, these cookies will be very challenging to make. The dough is very stiff and the piping, even with squeeze bottles, causes my hands to cramp.
      Good luck...enjoy the baking!
