CHOCOLATE DIPPED STRAWBERRIES

I had leftover chocolate from dipping marshmallow bunnies.
I had leftover chocolate chips from baking cookies.
I had strawberries that taste unusually sweet but not particularly pretty.
Hmmm, what to do, what to do?

Dip 'em...yep, that's the ticket!  Even without the nice stem I like to use for dipping...these will taste mahvelous dahling!

So..... I washed the strawberries and left them to dry upside down for several hours - also getting them to room temperature.

I melted the chocolate leftover from dipping the bunnies in the microwave... and tempered it with Milk Chocolate Ghirardelli chips.  Tasted it (of course) - delicious.

Nicely tempered chocolate

Dried each strawberry individually.  Water droplets would have ruined the chocolate.

Grabbed up the leafy cap of each strawberry and used it as a dipping handle.  Made a mess with a few...the leaves got a bit coated too...oops.

Dipped and dripped, gently tapping the hand holding the berry on the other hand (the same technique used with cake pop dipping).

When finished dripping off excess chocolate, gently sat them on a Silpat to firm up.

I love chocolate dipped strawberries!  Now I'm ready to taste.  Hurry up and set up chocolate!!!

Ahhh, there we go.  YUM!

Packing them in a cleaned up egg carton - totally dried - for transport to my big boys.  They will be happy to see them no doubt!

Bon Appetit, Y'all!
